Documentation
Brief overview of what RegioScan does and how to use it.
Detailed documentation lives in the in-app Help panel. Topics below outline the feature surface — full guides land alongside the public 1.0 release.
Install or run portable
Download the installer for your OS (Windows MSI, macOS DMG, Linux deb / rpm / AppImage), or grab the portable build that runs without installation from a USB stick.
Run your first scan
On first launch, RegioScan enumerates connected storage devices and pulls SMART attributes via the bundled smartctl. Each drive gets a single health score (0–100) plus the raw attributes if you want to dig in.
Self-tests
Short test takes ~2 minutes; long test runs in the background for 30 min – several hours depending on drive size. Results are stored locally and shown in the device history view.
Benchmark a drive
Pick a drive, choose sequential or 4K random, click Start. Results plot against your previous runs so you can spot regressions over time.
Secure erase
Surfaces ATA Secure Erase, NVMe Sanitize, and Crypto Erase commands with a two-step confirmation. Refuses to operate on system drives by default.
Local history
Every action — scan, test, benchmark, erase — gets logged to a local SQLite database. Export as PDF (per-drive report), JSON, or CSV.
