Privacy Policy
Short version: the RegioScan app sends us nothing. This page explains exactly what that means, and what this website does collect.
Last updated: 29.08.2026
This text is a working draft and has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer. It describes how the product and this website actually behave, but it does not yet carry legal sign-off.
The Romanian version governs. The Hungarian and English translations are provided for information; in case of discrepancy, the Romanian text prevails.
What this covers
This page covers two separate things: the RegioScan desktop application, and this website at regioscan.net. They are treated separately because they behave very differently β the application does not communicate with us at all, while the website can, if you write to us.
The desktop application
RegioScan reads S.M.A.R.T. attributes, runs self-tests, measures performance and erases drives entirely on the computer it is installed on. It requires no account and creates none. It has no telemetry: it does not report scan results, drive serial numbers, model names, usage statistics or crash data to us or to anyone else.
Scan history is kept in a local database file on your own machine, alongside the application. Deleting the application's data directory deletes that history. In portable mode the application runs from removable media and keeps its data there, so nothing is written to the host computer's profile. Because none of this data reaches us, we cannot read it, export it or delete it for you β it is yours, on your hardware.
RegioScan Pro
The Pro tier is announced but not yet available. When it launches it will add optional cloud-synced device history, a fleet dashboard and shareable QR-coded reports, using a Regio Development account and infrastructure hosted in the European Union. Those features will involve transmitting drive health data to us, which is exactly why they are opt-in and tied to an account you create deliberately. This page will be updated before Pro is offered for sale, not after.
This website
Browsing regioscan.net requires no account and sets no tracking or advertising cookies. If you use the contact form we receive the name, email address, company and message you type into it, so that we can reply.
The site keeps no database. A form submission is delivered to us as email and lives in our mailbox; it is not stored on this website afterwards.
Who else handles it
This website is hosted by Vercel, which keeps standard server access logs. Contact-form email is delivered through Resend. Both act as processors on our behalf and only in order to run the site and carry your message to us. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.
Legal basis and retention
We process the contents of a contact form on the basis of your request, in order to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, or on our legitimate interest in answering people who write to us. We keep the correspondence for as long as it takes to deal with the enquiry and any business relationship that follows from it, and then no longer.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may ask us for access to your data, for it to be corrected or deleted, for a copy of it, or for us to stop processing it. Write to the address below and we will answer within 30 days. If you believe we have handled your data wrongly, you may also complain to the Romanian supervisory authority, ANSPDCP (dataprotection.ro).
